Weather delay: Classes will resume Friday
Because of the timing of the storm, all classes, practices, and programs for Thursday are now cancelled. The new deadline for boarding students’ return is 9 p.m. Thursday evening.
We do understand that some students will arrive on Wednesday – which is fine! All dormitories will be open beginning Wednesday afternoon, and the dining hall will be open for all meals beginning with Wednesday lunch.
Please contact Eileen Douglas in the Dean’s Office at (401) 842-6798 to discuss any travel issues. She will be available during office hours today, tomorrow, and Thursday. In addition, the Dean on Duty phone (401) 338-7013 is available 24/7 starting now.

Jill Hughes is a captain of Geronimo, St George’s sailing and research vessel. Hughes has over a decade of experience in high school and collegiate at-sea education programs both in the U.S. and with foreign institutions. Using Geronimo and the at-sea environment, she works to enrich students’ education through hands-on experiential learning. This provides unique opportunities to extend students’ skills in leadership, problem solving, marine and nautical sciences while they work to adapt to the unusual shipboard environment. Hughes has a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Boston University and holds a U.S.C.G. Captain license for vessels up to 1,600 tons upon oceans.
