Melanie C. Lewis is the assistant dean of academics, teaches three sections of mathematics, works as an adjunct dorm parent and helps with the community service program in the afternoons. She specializes in working with the third- and fourth-formers at SG, including teaching sections of algebra and geometry (where you may see her students working on origami). She has worked extensively to develop the third-form residential program and now works to enhance the academic advising program. Lewis holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Goucher College and a master’s degree in educational technology from Johns Hopkins University. She and her husband, math teacher Doug Lewis, are the parents of two St. George’s alumni and have been recipients of the Hornor Travel Grant, given to outstanding faculty and staff.
