Career Opportunities

St. George’s School blends the strong traditions of its past with a bold vision for the future: to prepare young people in a journey of joy and discovery to lead “lives of constructive service to the world.” Located on a 125-acre campus overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, St. George’s is home to 370 boarding and day students in grades 9 through 12. Founded in 1896 as an Episcopal boarding school by the Rev. John Byron Diman, the school lives firmly in the 21st century, with state-of-the-art academic and athletic facilities. A community drawn from a wide range of traditions and backgrounds in the U.S. and around the world, St. George’s extends opportunities for teachers and students to deepen their skills, find new passions and discover their best selves, whether that be in a DNA sequencing lab, in competition on the basketball court, at sea navigating by starlight, or abroad in one of our unique service-learning internships. With a faculty committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for intellectual, social and personal development, St. George’s continues to fulfill its mission through enrolling a diverse, academically talented, and well-rounded student body.

Prize Day 2017 a celebration of talent and accomplishment

All of our Prize Day coverage is on our website. Here's a link to Head of School Eric Peterson's Prize Day address, and a link to the chapel address by Marjorie Burdick, mother of 2017 graduates Hannah and Kendall Burdick, as well as Sarah '11, Colby '13 and Brinley '19.

2016 grads back on campus

A year after their own Prize Day and with lots of exciting news to share, about 40 members of the Class of 2016 returned to the Hilltop Sunday to celebrate their first-year reunion. The event, a cookout hosted by the Advancement Office, took place at Vermillion House, the home of Associate Head of School for External Affairs Bob Weston and Director of Special Events Ann Weston. Current faculty members helped work the grills. Nice to see you all!

They're here!

Alumni Weekend photos are in! Check out the gallery on our page.

Doc Wallace in the news

The Newport Daily News published a terrific profile on Dr. Robin Wallace on the front page of yesterday's paper. The article was written by reporter Sean Flynn, father of Sophie Flynn '11.

SG Trivia Contest

Congratulations to the winner of last week's trivia contest, John Harris Jr. '09, who knew, of course that actor and producer Tim Stack P'09, father of Doyle, spoke at the 2009 Prize Day chapel service.

This week's trivia question: Trustees are on campus today and tomorrow for their annual spring board meetings. Who was the first female elected to the St. George's Board of Trustees?*

The first person to respond with the correct answer wins a coupon for $10 off a purchase from the SG Bookstore. Good luck!

The campus is emptying out today as students completed their final exam this morning and only some students remain to take SATs tomorrow.

Happy summer, everyone! Greetings from the Hilltop will be published monthly over the summer. Classes for the 2017-18 school year begin on Thursday, Sept. 7. As always, send us your news and photos at

*Note: If you're dying to know the answer to our trivia question before July 7, just send us a note at!
