Following the celebration of our 125th year, we stand, literally and figuratively, at the edge of a sweeping landscape. We stand on solid ground — a sturdy mission, a history of cultivating the “particular gifts” of students in “constructive service” to the greater good — and, when the morning mist above Second Beach has cleared, we can see a bright horizon.
We see a school that sends out into the world the young citizens, scholars, and leaders that it most needs. We see a school that — with foresight, investment, and dedication — will continue to be one of the most sought-after schools in New England.
To reach our horizon, we are now in the early stages of the most ambitious campaign in our history, designed to raise between $90 million and $110 million. A lead gift of $15 million from one of our most generous and devoted Dragons, Chair of the Board Dana Schmaltz ’85, P’17, ’20 — along with gifts from several leadership donors who have been inspired to invest in St. George’s — have certainly set the stage for success.
Still, this is, in every way, a community campaign. It calls on the generosity of every member of our community, and its major initiatives are designed to strengthen the campus community — essential work that is integral to a St. George’s education.
Our Horizon charts a bold path forward for St. George's, one that will positively impact the experience of every student, both those currently at the school and all those who will follow. With the help of the St. George's community, we can make this vision a reality and make our school ever stronger.
