Sunrise on Campus

COVID-19 Protocols for the 2023-24 School Year

Included below are guidelines that apply to our full community, as well as specific guidelines for international students and exempted students. These are based on current guidelines.

Vaccination policy
St. George’s strongly recommends that all students and employees are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Masking on campus
St. George’s will remain a mask-optional campus as school commences this fall. St. George’s School reserves the right to reinstate masking and other COVID-related restrictions at any time based on the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention and Rhode Island Department of Health guidance and our judgment regarding conditions on campus and in the community.

Testing on campus
We will continue to make COVID-19 testing available through the Health Center. It is important that  anyone who presents symptoms or is concerned about possible infection report immediately to the Health Center for evaluation.

Isolation/Quarantine
Students who test positive for COVID-19 will be asked to return home if the proximity of their homes allows. Students unable to return home will be required to isolate themselves in the Health Center and to follow our isolation and quarantine guidelines.

Community members who test positive will be eligible to return to school on the sixth day following their positive test so long as they test negative on an antigen test; they must wear masks through day 10. Following a positive test, all roommates, significant others, and other household contacts must remain masked for five days following the exposure and be tested on day six. Newest CDC guidelines require those who were exposed to wear a mask for a full 10 days and test on day 6 (or after five full days from last exposure). Even if testing is negative, they would continue to mask until day 10.
