Boys’ Varsity Squash Coach Information
Colin Mort is the G. Danforth Hollins Teaching Chair, Humanities Department Chair, and serves on the Academic Council. With a background in creative writing and the history of the novel, Mort is particularly interested in novels from around the world. He cultivates a student-centered learning environment where all students should expect to participate actively. In addition to his teaching duties, Mort coaches varsity boys’ squash and has led squash teams to both Independent School League and New England Championships. A published writer of fiction and essays, Mort holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Tennessee, a master’s degree of fine arts in creative writing from the University of Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in English from Colgate University, from which he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
