  • Jim Connor is the Prince Chair in History and teaches U.S. history and government. Connor has completed 35 years as a classroom teacher at a variety of secondary schools and continues to enjoy the energy and curiosity of students. His goal is to help students strengthen their reading, writing, and thinking skills and to consider the importance of historical perspective and interpretation in shaping their ideas and opinions. Connor has coached a wide variety of sports and enjoys working with students outside the classroom. He’s currently the faculty advisor to the William S.R. Rogers Endowment for Public Policy Studies at St. George’s. This program offers students an opportunity to travel to Washington and meet with a variety of public officials and SG alums working in the nation’s capital. Connor has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in liberal studies from Dartmouth College.

  • Asst, Coach
    Steve Totin joined the faculty in 2018 and teaches a variety of courses in the Arts Department. He’s an artist and educator who came to the Hilltop from Maryland Institute College of Art, where he earned his master's degree in fine arts in 2018. Totin’s work focuses on sculpture: woodworking, concrete casting, mold making, ceramics, plaster casting, assemblage, fibers, CNC laser cutting, 3D printing, and 3D modeling. In addition, he coaches soccer and track and serves as a dorm parent in Eccles.
