Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse
Who We Are
The lacrosse program at St. George's is dedicated to preparing players to excel at the college level. Emphasis is placed on player development through off-season speed and weight training, as well as student-led free play and pick up games. In-season development is led by our experienced coaches and culminates in our competition in the Independent School League regular season and tournament.
On top of skill development, our program emphasizes the importance of being a well-rounded individual who succeeds on the field, as well as in the classroom and in the community. Great people make great teams, and we aim to be great by following three core tenets:
"Without one fear"
One of our three tenets comes from a verse in the St. George's Day hymn, "Without one fear, all foes to face." "Without one fear" reminds us to take on any challenges or obstacles that confront us with courage.
"Amor Fati"
Our players are passionate about the game and value academic excellence, community service, and sportsmanship. Our coaches work closely throughout the year with each player to help them develop the skills and mindset needed to succeed both on and off the field. Our second tenet "Amor Fati" (A love of fate) reminds us that we need to accept circumstances as they come to us and use them to fuel the passion we have for our work, our team, and our community.
"Leave places better than you found them."
We are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where all players feel valued and respected. We encourage our players to be leaders both on and off the field and to use their skills and talents to make a positive impact in their communities, leaving people and places better than they once were. We clean up after ourselves and take care of those who take care of us.
We encourage players who want to be a part of our program to fill out the prospective student athlete form and email Head Coach Charlie Congleton at charlie_congleton@stgeorges. edu.
