Growing up in Maine, I returned to “Vacationland” in 1991 after graduating from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts with a degree in United States History and a minor in Political Science. Contemplating a profession in education versus a position in politics, I decided to get my feet in the professional world by accepting a position as an Assistant Director of Admission and Admission Liaison for the Radiologic Technology Program with Mercy Hospital at a small, Catholic college in Standish, Maine. While enjoying this position and the beautiful state of Maine, the harsh winters finally got the best of me and I started looking at professional opportunities in warmer climates! An opening became available in Admission at St. George’s School, and I decided to travel “south” for an informative interview to research “this beautiful campus that everyone was talking about.” Upon driving up the main drive and looking across the playing fields, I had my “Ah, hah!” moment and instantly fell in love with the Hilltop.

Fast-forward 24 years, and not looking a day older than when I arrived, I am still working in the Admission Office as a Senior Associate Director of Admission. My gift for “gab” comes in handy when organizing interviews for visiting families and planning the Today and Revisit programs for those students who want to dig deep into all things SG. Having played field hockey in college, coaching field hockey is a passion, although I find that the older I get, demonstrating the penalty strokes now guarantees a quick visit to the doctor versus a possible goal. The feeling of community that I fell in love with when I arrived on the campus back in 1994 is one of the many things that has kept me here at SG and passionate about my profession. Serving as dorm head in an upper form dorm and advisor to six wonderful advisees is also one of the many hats that I enjoy wearing. Once I leave the office, my mom hat then pops on and I begin the juggle of the very busy lives of my three daughters. Amazingly, because I feel that it was just yesterday that I was holding her as an infant, my oldest daughter is now a student at St. George’s, and I find myself in the position of parent to a Dragon. At the end of the day, though, the most joy I have is knowing that my ENTIRE family is part of this Hilltop community where everyone's voice is valued.
