Coaches

  • Head Coach

    G. Robert Wein teaches all levels of physics and is the chair of the Science Department. Wein specializes in teaching the Advanced Physics courses as well as the Principles of Engineering course and Energy and Ethics. He coaches soccer and supervises the Academic Center and campus in the evenings. He lives adjacent to campus and has two daughters who are SG graduates. Wein holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Connecticut and has published original research in international journals and at a number of conferences since coming to SG in 1999. He has developed several interdisciplinary courses, searching for the common interests that lay between standard departments and sharing a passion for science and a joy for learning. Above all students can expect to be challenged and embraced.

  • Emmanuel Daring is a teaching fellow in the mathematics and science departments as well as a dorm parent and an assistant coach of the varsity track and field team. Daring studied number theory and organic chemistry at Williams College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He also was a captain of the track and field team, where he captured a school record and appeared at multiple national championships. In the classroom, Daring aims to create an environment where his students are comfortable and confident enough to try new and challenging things. The skills they learn in his class can be used to achieve their educational potential long after they leave St. George’s.
