Win 5-2
The boys traveled up to Weston, Massachusetts, yesterday, to take on the Red Wings of Rivers School. Sans two of six starting singles players, the new-look lineup was in need of a strong performance by different players in the lineup, both in singles and doubles.

Singles:
At #1, JG Hill-Edgar '21 put on an impressive performance, getting out to big leads in each of his two sets. He attacked the net regularly and found himself many overhead (offensive) opportunities. At #3 and #4, Ridgely Kelly '19 and Simon Li '20 competed valiantly, leaving little opportunity on the court for their opponents to latch on. Points were reasonably quick, with aggressive attacks down-the-line and volley put-aways to finish. At #5, Linus Maurer battled back from a second set loss to win a highly-contested third set tiebreaker, 10-8! Linus was down 0-6 in the breaker to seven points and stormed all the way back! His win, which closed out play, helped secure five points for the Dragons.

Doubles:
The lone point was clinched by two wins, coming from the #1 and #2 spots. Co-captain Colby Richardson '19, who was hampered by a bicep injury and unable to play singles, stepped up his game at the #1 spot (with JG), serving and volleying his way to success. The boys won their set, 8-1. At the #2 spot, Simon Li and Aristo Wang '20 advanced through their set in a back-and-forth fashion. At 5-4 up, they broke and held, sending things to 7-4. They secured the next game and won the set, 8-4.

Team play resumes on Saturday when the boys travel up to Groton, Massachusetts, to take on the league power Zebras. Weather should be lovely. Match time is set for 3:15 p.m.
