Students take over the fall play
This fall, Timofey Pozhitkov '19 directed the student-led fall play, featuring himself, Natalie Hansel '20, Tongyan Wang '19, and Chance Bochuchin '21. The performance was composed of two plays from different artists with a connected theme of impulsive relationships, where the characters make hasty decisions without thinking it through. Heathers: The Musical

Based on the killer 80s classic, "Heathers: The Musical" invites the audience to explore the absurdity of high school gossip and popularity through a new lens. The plot circles on Veronica Sawyer, who through deadly circumstances, finds herself at the top of the social food chain, controlled by the notorious, shoulder-padded Queen Bees - The Heathers. Overwhelmed with her reputation and crushed by the pressure of perfection, Veronica and her newfound boyfriend, J.D., take it upon themselves to free high school of the unjust social hierarchy, developing a complex romance with each other and their emerging beliefs. Through the extreme absurdity and camp of 1980’s high school memes, the St. George’s Theater Department aims to reveal the silver lining of this dark comedy’s cloud.
