Information for International Families

All applicants who are not US citizens are considered international applicants.

Testing Requirements

All international applicants are required to take a TOEFL exam in addition to the SSAT. We require that students applying achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 90.

English Language Requirements

SG does not offer an ESL program and therefore requires students to be highly proficient in speaking, listening, writing and reading the English language.

F.A.Q.

Are there any additional fees for international families?

There is a $100 application fee for our international families. To assist in funding the additional support required to manage travel visa, a $1,000 fee is charged to all students requiring a Form I-20 in order to attend school in the United States.

When are the dorms closed?

Dorms close during Thanksgiving (November), Winter (December/January), Spring (March), and summer breaks. See our calendar for specific dates. Dorms remain open for all long weekends.

What is the Application and Immigration Process?

In order for a student to receive an I-20 Form and apply for an F-1 Visa, a student must first apply, be admitted and enroll at SG before we will issue the I-20 form.

According to United States regulations, families must also provide the School with financial certification and proof of the applicant’s citizenship before an I-20 is mailed.
