Student studying in library

Application Process

We know the application process can be intimidating, and the Admission Office is here for you every step of the way.

Here's a breakdown of the application process:

Step 1:
Student Information Form

We'd love to learn more about you! Submit the student information form so we can better prepare for your visit.

Step 2:
Interview & Visit

Let’s get to know each other! Schedule a visit.

Step 3:
Testing

Register for the SSAT, the ISEE or the TOEFL. Tests are administered in the fall and winter of each year.

SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test). Most 9th through 11th grade candidates submit SSAT scores. (School code 6460)

Candidates taking the PSAT or SAT between September and January may submit either of those scores in place of SSAT scores.

ISEE (Educational Records Bureau Independent School Entrance Examination). (School Code 400085)

Candidates may submit ISEE scores in place of SSAT scores.

International Students must submit the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) in addition to the SSAT or ISEE.  (TOEFL code 3533)

Step 4:
Complete the Application

Complete and submit the application.

Applications due by Jan. 15

 The completed application includes:

  • Candidate profile
  • Student essays
  • Parent statement
  • School report with transcript
  • Current English teacher recommendation
  • Current math teacher recommendation
  • Personal recommendation (optional)
  • Application fee

Ready? Start the application now!  You can come back any time and pick up where you left off. St. George’s  accepts the SSAT Standard Application Online (SAO) and the Gateway to Prep Schools Application.

We believe that the journey matters, character and personal growth are an integral part of the St. George's experience.  The Character Skills Snapshot  is not a required component of the application, but we strongly recommend it. Grades and test scores don’t tell us the whole story of your child, and this new online assessment tool helps provide us with additional insight while learning about our applicants.

Step 5:
Acceptance Decisions Announced

Students receive admission decisions on the morning of March 10 by email.

Step 6:
Revisit & Enroll

Accepted students have the opportunity to revisit St. George’s. The Revisit Program consists of an evening and day program.  Families can sign up to return in April 2020.

We must receive your contract and deposit by 3 p.m. on April 10 to secure your spot.
