Technology
Rooted in tradition while flowering with innovation, St. George’s boasts a vast technology landscape. Our campus offers robust solutions for academic research, collaboration, curiosity, and creation for all community members.
St. George’s School systems and infrastructure are a cohesive, living being — one that is constantly tended to best support the latest developments in teaching and learning. Our mandatory laptop program places a business-class laptop in the hands of every student and faculty member. This ensures ease of use, software/hardware standardization, and comprehensive technical support through extended warranties and insurance managed right on campus.
Our collective use of G Suite for Education, Canvas LMS, and Adobe Creative Cloud applications offer students and faculty flexible and accessible technology resources from any device or location. Secure wireless connectivity is available in all community and academic spaces. And digital signage in our common areas keeps students and faculty updated on school schedules and events, as well as showcases student photography and videography.
Nearly every teaching space on campus is a “smart” classroom, employing a combination of projection, integrated sound systems, electronic whiteboards, document cameras and flat screens, controlled by Crestron touch panels.
Technology staff often work closely with faculty, offering instructional assistance and guidance in selecting academic technology solutions. Each year, our staff partners with computer science faculty to present real-world examples, give campus technology tours, and provide content to students. Our collaboration with the Horton Center for Learning outlines vital information for new students in the ACES! Program, bolstering technical knowledge and improving academic outcomes within the first six weeks of school.
