Throughout the year St. George's School hosts a number of special guests—among them noted authors, scientists, politicians, activists and artists—to address and enlighten our community. Among our formalized lecture series are:

• The Richard H. Dent ’46 Annual Forum to enhance and enrich the study of the social sciences at St. George’s School. Established in loving memory by the family and friends of Richard Dent, the forum has featured such speakers as Harold Evans, former president and publisher of Random House and editorial director and vice chairman of U.S. News & World Report; Gregory B. Craig, attorney and former White House counsel; Dr. David Kessler, former head of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration; Gareth Cook, science reporter for the Boston Globe and winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for explanatory reporting; and Dr. Cornell West, the Class of 1943 Professor of Religion at Princeton University.

• The Gilbert Burnett Lecture Series on the Environment is named in honor of former science teacher Gil Burnett, who served St. Georgeís for 26 years from 1958-1960 and from 1966-1990. Upon his retirement a fund was established by his former students to support the series, "to educate present and future St. Georgeís students about threats to the health of the planet and strategies for preserving the balance of nature." The series brings to campus each year a lecturer who has achieved recognition as a staunch supporter of the environment and one committed to educating the public about their role in preserving it. Mr. Burnett died September 13, 2009.

• The Claiborne Pell ’36 Global Lecture Series was established by the board of trustees in 2008 in an effort “to connect our students with the larger world and bring global issues to the campus in meaningful ways …” The board named the series, "in memory of our friend and trustee colleague who served as a leader and advocate for America’s global engagement.” Its inaugural event was held in September 2009 with a lecture by author Cathy Bao Bean.
