Parents' Committee

On behalf of the 2011-2012 Parents’ Committee we would like to welcome all new and returning families to an exciting new year at St. George’s School.

The parents’ committee is a liaison between the school administration and parents in supporting St. George’s families and the school’s mission. In 2010-2011 there were 36 families represented on the committee from various backgrounds and parts of the country. The committee meets twice a year and discusses issues and ideas to enhance the St. George’s experience for students and their families. Please take a moment to review the committee’s Mission Statement.   We welcome any questions parents have, ways parents can support the school and ideas to enhance your child’s experience at St. George’s.

The communications department works to keep parents and students informed of school events. The Parent Portal on this website can be accessed with your username and password. Please check it often as you will find calendars, FAQ’s for parents about school procedures, school publications, the student newspaper, chapel talks, academic honors and photos and videos of sports, musical performances, artwork and other campus happenings. In addition, during the school year parents receive a weekly e-mail message, "For Parents Only," which gives parents a glimpse of what is currently happening on the Hilltop. St. George’s also has a Facebook page.

The parents committee also runs the Parents for Faculty Program which shows appreciation to the faculty for all they do. Parents may contribute items such as tickets to a show, restaurant gift certificates, the use of a vacation home, artwork, etc. These items are then raffled off to a faculty member. If you are interested in participating please click here for the form to submit an item.  All gifts are greatly appreciated.

The committee also serves the critical role of assisting with the Annual Fund campaign. The Annual Fund is essential to the operation of the school and contributes about 10% of the annual budget. Last year 80% percent of current families generously participated in the Annual Fund. This year our goal is for every family to participate with a gift at any level.
On behalf of the parents committee we wish you and your student a happy, safe and successful year ahead.
