Greetings from the Hilltop!

Congratulations to the St. George’s alumni athletes, coaches and friends who will be inducted into the St. George’s Sports Hall of Fame this fall. The 1994 girls’ lacrosse team, Peter Barbaresi ’77, Jennifer Swett Chrisman ’83, Rich Dempsey ’92, Shea Guthrie ’05, Iman Davis ’06 and athletic trainer Wendy Drysdale will be honored at a Hall of Fame ceremony on campus Friday, Nov. 11, the day before the fall Middlesex games. Read more about the impressive accomplishments of these inductees — such as Iman (above left) scoring her 1,000th point and Shea (above right) leading the 2005 hockey team to a New England championship (right) — here.

The Del’s truck is at Second Beach and all over New England we’re enjoying that summer feeling. So were Igor Sikorsky III ’79, Bill Sistare ’78, and Joe Kettelle ’78 when they recently got together at Igor’s Bradford Camps fishing and hunting lodge on the shore of Munsungan Lake in Maine’s north woods (right). Next weekend, Igor will be hosting the annual Sikorsky Weekend at the camp, during which he regales visitors with stories about his famed grandfather, inventor of the first successful helicopter.

In town from L.A., Ryan Vaillancourt '02, his wife Uli and daughter Fiona stopped by campus with Ryan’s parents, Charlie and Maureen Vaillancourt, over this past weekend. Andrew Scott ’01 was with them and snapped this photo (right). Ryan now works for NationBuilder. (Note to recent college grads: The firm is now hiring.)

Congratulations to St. George’s trustee and former chair of the Music Department Clare Gesualdo, who was the winner of last week’s trivia contest as the first (of many) to respond with the correct answer of “Don Quixote.” Try again, all!

Here’s this week’s trivia question: One of St. George’s most generous donors, the late Craig Watjen ’54, loved summer in particular as a passionate baseball fan. As assistant treasurer of Microsoft Corp. in the 1980s, Craig witnessed firsthand the remarkable growth of one of the country’s most famed companies. Before his death in 2010, he was also part–owner of which major league baseball team?
