Jake Westermann leads the Global Studies class and serves as the director of the teaching fellows program. Additionally, he teaches English and coaches varsity basketball and lacrosse. Westermann utilizes an interdisciplinary approach in his classes and relies on student-driven discussions to propel the learning process. Along with his students in Global Studies, Westermann travels abroad each year for a research trip, which has landed him in Romania, Greece and Vietnam. As the director of the teaching fellows program, Westermann works to support the growth and development of those members of the St. George’s School faculty newest to the teaching profession. Westermann holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Brown University and a master’s degree of arts in liberal studies in cultural studies from Dartmouth College.
