Sarah Ellen Matarese
Sarah Matarese is a member of the science department and teaches biology, environmental science and marine biology. Matarese is passionate about engaging her students in many different areas of science. Her goal is to have her students leave with an appreciation and understanding of the field of science. Matarese is interested specifically in the biodiversity of the marine habitat in Narragansett Bay and how that may be affected by climate change. She has been involved in research with students at SG who share her passion. She also coaches two sports, lives on campus with her family and is a dorm parent. Matarese holds a bachelor’s degree in biology, a master’s degree in biology and a Ph.D. in biology, with a concentration in marine biology, from the University of Rhode Island.
