Lisa B. Hansel
Lisa Baldani Hansel has been a member of the St. George’s faculty since 1996 and currently teaches advanced drawing and 2-D design, architecture and visual foundation classes. She served as director of the Hunter Gallery for seven years and has been an adjunct professor at both Rhode Island School of Design and New England Institute of Technology. Hansel is a certified yoga instructor at the 500 RYT and leads yoga sessions with the athletic teams in the afternoons. Prior to teaching, Hansel gained over a decade of professional experience in interior design and architecture practice. Her transition from architecture to academia was inspiration for her master’s thesis: “Artist as Teacher: An Investigation Into the Role of the Artist/Designer in Secondary Art Education.” Hansel holds a master’s degree from Rhode Island School of Design and a bachelor’s degree in interior design from the University of Cincinnati.
