Tuition and Fees

The St. George's tuition for the 2011-2012 academic year is $47,500 for a boarding student and $32,600 for a day student. St. George's welcomes any questions regarding the financial aid process. Please do not hesitate to call Ryan Mulhern, Director of Financial Aid at 401-842-6663 or Ryan_Mulhern@stgeorges.edu.

Affording a St. George’s Education

Financial assistance at St. George’s School is awarded to families based upon their financial need and the availability of funds. There are no merit based awards at St. George’s School. All awards offered are based on the demonstrated need of the family.  All families, domestic and international, in need of financial assistance are encouraged to apply.

St. George’s is fortunate to have a sizable budget set aside for financial assistance, but despite this sum and due to the increased need demonstrated by prospective families for financial assistance, we are unable to award grants of aid to all students who meet our admission criteria. As a result, St. George’s School will offer a space only to those students we can financially assist. If we are unable to offer financial assistance to an admissible student, that student will be placed on the waiting list until funds and a space become available.

The Financial Aid Process

In order to apply for financial assistance, the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) must be filled out and submitted to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) by February 1.
Once SSS receives the PFS form, they will compute what a family can contribute towards their child’s education. If the number we receive is equal to or lower than the current boarding or day tuition, it will serve as a guideline for determining financial need by our Financial Aid Committee.

Step 1

•    Starting on November 1, 2011, you may begin your online application at www.sss.nais.org.
•    Click on the prompt to begin your Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS).
•    You will be given a username and password that will allow you to return to your PFS at a later date before submitting it.

Step 2

•    After submitting your PFS form you will be required to submit by mail the following documents to SSS to complete your financial application.

- Signed Federal tax return with all supporting schedules for 2010.

- Current year 2011 W2’s from all working parents.

Mail the above items to:

SSS by NAIS
P.O. Box 449
Randolph, MA 02368

Step 3

•    After submitting the PFS, most recent 1040 and W2, the financial aid process at St. George’s is completed.
•    Financial Aid awards will be included in the packets mailed to the accepted students in March. At this time returning families will also be receiving their financial aid grants.
•    If you have special circumstances please contact Ryan Mulhern, Director of Financial Aid at (401) 842-6663 or Ryan_Mulhern@stgeorges.edu, as soon as possible with the details.

Financing Options:

1) Independence Foundation Loans are awarded only in combination with financial aid grants and only to families designated by the Financial Aid Office. No interest is charged while the student is at St. George’s. Interest is paid while the student is in college. After college graduation, the loan is amortized and interest and principal are paid over a four-year period.

2) The St. George’s Parent Loan Plan helps meet the needs of middle and upper middle income families who, by virtue of their gross income, may not be eligible for other forms of assistance. This plan enables parents to pay for up to four years of education costs in monthly installments over an extended period and at a low interest rate.

For questions, contact the SG Business Office at (401) 842-6781.

Monthly Payment Plans:

St. George’s traditionally bills twice during the year, in June and November. For those parents who want to pay on an installment basis, but who do not wish to take out a loan to do so, St. George’s offers a nine-month payment program. In the Nine-Month Plan, the tuition, or family contribution in the case of financial aid recipients, is met in nine equal monthly payments made through one of the two outside agencies recommended by the school.
